Motivation in Permanent Makeup
Share
It is not enough to be an extraordinary good artist to be fully booked.
Maybe you, as well think that there are too many artists, there is not too much work for you.
Sometimes it is hard to survive a month with all those bills we need to pay, thinking about the situation in the world and it affects our mind. All those thoughts can actually do the opposite thing instead of motivating you to keep a positive mind for a new idea.
Only positive mind is something that will push you to create more eyebrows tattoo, lip blush...
And there is always a struggle, when you are a permanent makeup artist, to overcome difficulties. Difficult times have been happening true to history, and as always, mankind did its best to find new solutions.
I do remember the year I was a guest teacher at the SPCP convention giving a presentation about powder brows. We were sitting in a lobby bar with Robin Pells and all those beautiful people there.
Robin was very open about permanent makeup life, and the struggles we can face, when we work for a long period of time.
Even if we get to the point when we are fully booked, when our job is going very well, sometimes that motivation to go to work and to perform treatments is not the way it should be.
Sometimes we feel that we cannot walk true to our studio door and keep on doing the same job.
It is a common thing, and it didn't happen only to you.
If you are a complete beginner in a permanent makeup, just noticed that if it may happen to you, that one day you will feel unsatisfied with your work. It has happened to so many of our colleagues around the globe. It did happen to me, as well.
For me it did happen because I was truly unsatisfied with pigments, and lost an interest in doing eyebrows tattoo. I was truly unsatisfied with what I received on my client in a year after the treatment. I was in a huge struggle.
But what has motivated me, at that moment, to start working so hard and this is how I pulled out into a new creativity.
To go back to the subject of how to create a network of clients when you start working. It is not so hard, it is not too hard. It will require work, it will require practice, it will require effort. Practice, effort, consistency. It is not enough to put to social networks work of lips, eyebrows.
You cannot fight with all these retouched photos we see each day.
Retouching photos is not something that will not sell your work. In a field of too many works on the Internet, clients are trying to find a reliable person, as well. They need you. But you need to give them, not just beautiful work, you need to take care of how this work will look in a year, in two years.
The trend is to be natural.
If you put a color on your client that will look gray, blue in a year or two years, it will be a bad commercial. Specially
younger generations they truly do not want to look destroyed. Being natural is very important for younger generations.
Let's go back to the subject. years ago I had a studio and I was fully booked for more than 3 months, having five treatments per day. Yes, it was a lot. Instead of only putting fresh photos, instead of only putting freshly done eyebrows, which I never loved, for me personally no freshly done tattoo of eyebrows looks natural. I still think the same.
Only healed photos of good PMU looks natural.
And this is what I wanted to give to my clients. I wanted to show them that they will not look like some pixels, dots and everything on their eyebrows. I chose good light to take photos instead of retouching them.
Even if most of you will go to Instagram posting photos etcetera, it is not enough today to post a photo on a social network.
What I did was promoting my work, by choosing women over 40.
I choose women who have a stable job, who come to me and do one procedure, and then they will continue to do a second procedure and let's say if we did lips, they will discuss about their eyebrows and opposite.
The network of my clients has been spreading so fast.
I was very fast in my procedures. I needed less than one hour for a full procedure, and absolutely time to spend with my client before..
Pigments do have and impact of how fast you can do a procedure. Because our face, our skin do love some kind of pigments and actually don't like some other types of pigments, and in all of these treatments I like to embrace nature.
My advice to you to be fully booked:
1.Take a notebook.
Start writing what you need to do today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and start organizing yourself.
Our clients are more and more and more pickable.
They need more information, they want you to be a person who will interact with them, they need final results and a guarantee that they will not look strange in a couple of years.
The truth is we are so afraid of all these strange looking eyebrows when we see them on a street, in a supermarket on every corner.
We do not see permanent makeup when she's gorgeous and beautiful on someone's face, but when we see changes our eyes catch that the most. to resume all this video and I will go in each segment in the next videos
- take care of your clients, with notebook, remind them when it is time to refresh their hair strokes, lip blush.
- Get involved in what you want to present to your clients, speak from the heart.
- Do not retouch the photos on the way everybody does it is so common those days. women do not trust when they see over retouched photos.
- If you don't know and you don't want to be in front of the camera speak with your words. let everything come from your heart from your head to be in a sentence under your work.
- Interact with your clients, show them what they need to see from you, don't forget maybe one day you will not see results, maybe next day you will not see results, of your posting, but keep on doing and improving, keep on working on yourself, to tell them they need to build a trust from you that is very important coma consistency consistency this is very very very important when you have business.
- Tell them that you are different, showed him this is real work this is how they look like coma i'm not just taking young women, and take nice photos. As my husband is a photographer and very important while you're taking the photo is your object, lights in the next videos I will show you how to take photos and film videos.
Show them your real work, show them yourself.
But not just travels, nice photos or perfect woman, show them the real you, who you are, what do you believe in, what do you cook sometimes, it helps being interactive.
Do not pay attention to what your colleague from permanent makeup would say, we do not live and pay bills from our colleagues opinion.
Our colleagues are very very important, they have the same struggles we do. instead of looking at them as your competitors, try to take a look at what they are doing well, and try to improve it in yourself.
Our colleagues are ordinary people who do have their own problems who work hard to get their clients.
Find out what makes them so successful and try to improve it in yourself.
You will see that one day, when we get older, we would think about competition as the biggest nonsense.
